I was told by HempWoodUSA that this was the first piece of furniture made from their material, so the development that went into making the material work for my application was significant. Learning about the properties of hemp cloth in order to mold it into a suitably strong seat pan also took countless hours and many sleepless nights.... and then I had to learn how to dye it with natural indigo.
