I was given 2 slabs of Birch that originated from the client's property. I processed them flat, then did my best to "book match" them with a discerning cut on a panel saw. From there I joined them with #10 Dominos, filled all voids with epoxy, inlaid 5 Walnut bowties, routed recesses for the metal bases, sanded, and sealed the final piece with Rubio Monocoat.
